2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup margarine
1/8 cup white sugar
Directions
In a medium bowl, sift the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Rub in the butter. When it resembles fine breadcrumbs, stir in the sugar and milk to form soft dough.
On a floured surface, knead and roll the dough. Cut into 2-inch rounds and place on a lined baking sheet with parchment paper. Brush the top with glaze
Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Serve with jam and butter.
